Jennifer Addy B.H.Sc. RMT

Jennifer Addy is the owner of Creek Massage Practice and grew up just outside of Perth, Ontario. She pursued her post-secondary education in London, Ontario at the University of Western Ontario and completed her Bachelor of Health Sciences in 2003.

Upon graduation, she participated in a rural health promotion practicum at a Public Health Unit in Almonte, Ontario implementing health promotion programs to children. This experience provided education in creative service delivery in rural communities.

Jennifer continued her studies and took a three-year Massage Therapy program at Algonquin College in Ottawa. This program offered an array of clinical experience and included the opportunity to work with a wide range of demographics such as expectant mothers, infants, the elderly, athletes, developmentally-challenged individuals and clients with acquired brain injury.

After graduating on the Deans honour list in 2007, she began work at a Chiropractic Care Center in Perth alongside other RMTs, Naturopathic Doctors and Chiropractors where she gained a myriad of expertise.

Upon moving to Halfmoon Bay in September 2009 with her husband and two children, Jennifer started working from a cottage in Roberts Creek and from the Spa at the Painted Boat in Madiera Park. She became the owner of Creek Massage Practice in June 2010.

Jennifer has continued her studies in areas such as hot stone massage, osteopathic techniques, orthobionomy and self-care strategies.

In addition to common musculoskeletal impairments, the diversity in clients offers Jennifer the opportunity to treat a variety of conditions including multiple sclerosis, fibromyalgia/chronic fatigue syndrome, diabetes, anxiety disorders, stress, osteoporosis and scar tissue adhesions to name a few.

Using a client-centered approach, Jennifer enjoys using a variety of techniques to relax tissue and promote an optimal state of well-being. The treatment modalities she uses include trigger point therapy, Swedish massage, lymphatic drainage, myofascial release, hydrotherapy, low grade joint mobilization, passive and active stretching, and range of motion movement. Each technique used helps to restore and normalize muscle tissue, enhance circulation, improve posture and promote the healing process.

Jennifer believes that relaxation massage is essential in helping to restore and maintain a whole-body state of wellbeing and ensures that she is always sensitive to her clients' comfort levels while reaching their personal health goals. Jennifer's has experience in tailoring treatment to meet her clients specific needs.

Outside of work Jennifer lives in Halfmoon Bay and enjoys spending time with her husband and two children Finn and Ella.
